V4DIS 2015–The Twelfth Year of the Visegrad Conference

Simultaneously with the 18^th year of the ISSS conference there was held the traditional international conference V4DIS (Visegrad Four for Developing Information Society) in the Congress Centre Aldis in Hradec Králové already for the twelfth year. After a year the meeting of public administration representatives from the Visegrad Four countries was again attended by a number of significant guests from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary as well as from other European countries. The personal auspices of the conference were granted similarly as in the previous years by the Vice President of the Senate of the Parliament of ČR Přemysl Sobotka. The conference meeting was gala opened in the Visegrad lounge on Monday morning and behind the chair desk there appeared besides Přemysl Sobotka also Jiří Běhounek, President of the Vysočina Region, which is a co-organizer of this year conference, General Secretary of the Union of Towns and Cities of Slovakia Marian Minarovič, Piotr Filipkowski from Poland (Szkoła Główna Handlowa w Warszawie) and the director of the ISSS/V4DIS conference Tomáš Renčín. The opening meeting was moderated by Jaroslav Šolc from the Prague City Hall and it was attended also by members of a big delegation from the National Council of the Slovak Republic, a number of public administration representatives from CR, Poland and Hungary as well as Viktoria Bódisová from the International Visegrad Fund.

This year conference of public administration representatives from Visegrad countries focused especially on the current state of e-government in the V4 region. The first part of the conference programme took place during Monday morning immediately after the gala opening and a number of speeches of the conference V4DIS 2015 participants was divided into various theme blocks within the whole two-day ISSS/V4DIS 2015 programme.

V4DIS 2015 conference programme included as usual work presentations of young talented people who take an active part in the public administration and via the international competition JuniorErb they compare their own projects and exchange valuable experience. Also this year the awarded competitors met the representatives of state administration and local governments of Visegrad and they were handed over memorial certificates by the Vice President of the Senate of the Parliament of ČR Přemysl Sobotka. During the day public administration representatives from the V4 countries also took over prizes awarded within the traditional competition EuroCrest.

The main organizer of the twelfth year of the conference V4DIS was the Association Czech At, co-organizer was the Vysočina Region and this year the Conference was also supported by the International Visegrad Fund (IVF).
