Visegrad Conference V4DIS 2010

Simultaneously with the substantial programme of the national Conference ISSS 2010 there was held already the seventh year of the Visegrad Conference V4DIS (Visegrad Four for Developing Information Society) in the days of 12–13 April in Hradec Králové. On Monday morning 12 April there was a gala opening in the Visegrad lounge in the Aldis Congress Centre. This ceremony was attended by the President of Senate of the Parliament of CR Přemysl Sobotka, by the Executive Director of the International Visegrad Fund Petr Vágner, by the President of the Vysočina Region Jiří Běhounek, by the Government Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic Pavol Tarina, by the Director of the Conference ISSS/LORIS/V4DIS Tomáš Renčín as well as by a number of other representatives of public administration in the Visegrad countries.

The Conference V4DIS 2010 follows a project that has been continuing already since 2004. This year programme of the Visegrad meeting focused especially on the current state of the e-government development in the V4 region as well as on the traditional issue of e-tourism concerning mainly information tourist systems supporting tourist industry both at the European and at the municipal level and promotion of tourist destinations.

The programme of the Conference V4DIS 2010 includes also awarding the winners of the popular competition Eurocrest as well as the competition JuniorCrest for the young creators of internet projects concerning the area of public administration–competitors of all Visegrad countries could also present their projects in the project laboratory. They were also handed over memorial folios for their projects by the President of Senate of the Parliament of CR.
