V4DIS 2013–the 10th year of the conference is over

The tenth year of the V4DIS conference (Visegrad Four for Developing Information Society), where there annually meet representatives of public administration of the Visegrad Four countries, was successfully finished on Tuesday 9 April in Hradec Králové. As usual the event accompanied a two-day programme of a renowned national conference ISSS (Internet in Public Administration and Self-governments). The Visegrad conference was granted personal auspices by the Vice President of the Senate of the Parliament of CR Přemysl Sobotka as well as it was also supported by the International Visegrad Fund (IVF).

The programme of the event, which was participated by a whole number of representatives of public administration not only from all the four countries of Visegrad region but also from other European countries, offered as usual current information about the e-government development, project presentations from the e-tourism area, issues concerning further development of crossborder cooperation or experience with modern technologies implementation.

The most important part of this year programme was evaluation of an extensive eight-month project LDA-V4 (Local digital agenda in V4 countries), which mapped the state of public administration of Visegrad region and which was collaborated on by a number of public administration subjects from all four Visegrad member countries. The project got allocated quite a large space within the programme immediately after the gala opening of the conference and its results were presented to the audience by Petr Pavlinec as a deputy of the main implementor of the Vysočina region and by Jaroslav Šolc from the City Hall of Prague, who was the coordinator of the project. The programme of the conference V4DIS 2013 also included presentations delivered by representatives of public administration as well as local and municipal governments of Visegrad countries that did not lack contributions from the Union of Towns and Cities of Slovakia (Marian Minarovič), analytic company IDC CEMA (Mark Yates), Polish Gdaňsk (Joanna Zbierska), representatives of Slovakian cities Bratislava (Marek Papajčík) and Turčianské Teplice (Michal Sygút) and a number of others…

The programme of the V4DIS conference annually includes presentation of activities of young talented people who take an active part in the public administration and through the competition Junior Erb (Junior Crest) they compare their own projects and exchange valuable experience–this year winner was Jan Oliva from the Secondary Grammar School of Vítězslav Novák from Jindřichův Hradec. In the course of the gala evening the deputies of public administration of V4 countries (Most, Bratislava and Polish Tycha) also took over the prizes awarded within the traditional competition EuroCrest.

The main organizer of the conference V4DIS 2013 was traditionally the Association Czech At, the event was also prepared by the University of Hradec Králové, City Hall of Prague and partners of V4 countries–the Union of Towns and Cities of Slovakia and the city Moldava nad Bodvou, the city Karcag (Hungary) and the foundation Alfa-Omega Foundation, the cities Radkow, Rybnik, Gdaňsk and the region Swidnica (Poland).
